The "Lusciàt" - easy trekking tour
EASY LOOP TOUR IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE LOCAL UMBRELLA-MAKERS
This medium level hike will bring you through the villages, forests and paths used by the “Lusciat” for centuries before their migration out into the world in search of fortune and success.
We start from the tiny village of Brovello and we will walk straight to the ancient mule-path that crosses the fairy Medieval bridge over the Erno River and after a few minutes we will reach the Romanic church of Peter and Paul. From here we will begin to walk up through the lush forests that lead to the wonderful village of Nocco, a little pearl that lays on a placid valley with stunning views over Lake Maggiore and Mount Mottarone.
From here we will continue to the village considered the Lusciat “Capital” Gignese, where there will be time for an interesting visit at the local Museum of Umbrella and Parasol and after that we will head out for a nice break in a local bar.
This will be followed by a slow stroll through the picturesque narrow alleys of the town center and then again up in the lovely forests for a last walk up to the “Alpe Caná”, an ancient mountain pasture where the panorama is simply breathtaking: Lake Maggiore, Lake Comabbio, Lake Varese, Lake Monate, the Alps and, on clear days the Milan skyline. After having enjoyed this amazing journey, it will be time for a last walk down to Brovello to conclude our fun and informative tour!
