Brescia Walking Tour :
Italy's Most Underrated City and a Local Aperitivo
Discover Italy's most underrated city through history and local life
Brescia is a city rich in history, layered, and full of character, yet still largely untouched by mass tourism. With more than four thousand years of history and several UNESCO-listed sites, it offers a remarkable combination of Roman ruins, medieval streets, elegant squares and a lively local atmosphere.
Our walking tour begins at Brescia castle, rising above the historic center and offering sweeping views over the city. From here we walk downhill at an easy pace, letting the story of Brescia unfold naturally, without turning the experience into a history lecture.
Along the way we explore the impressive archaeological area of ancient Brixia, stroll through Piazza Duomo with its distinctive Old Cathedral, and reach Piazza della Vittoria, a bold example of twentieth-century architecture. We then cross the elegant Piazza della Loggia before ending in the Carmine district, one of Brescia’s most authentic neighborhoods.
The tour concludes the way locals do: by slowing down and sharing a relaxed aperitivo. Together, we enjoy a glass of Pirlo, Brescia’s most traditional drink. A simple, convivial moment that perfectly reflects the spirit of the city.
