This full-day private tour is designed for travelers who wish to experience different layers of Northern Piedmont in a balanced and relaxed day, moving from iconic landmarks to quieter places rarely reached by mass tourism.

We begin in Stresa, where we board a boat to reach Isola Bella, one of the most celebrated islands of Lake Maggiore. Here we visit the elegant Palazzo Borromeo, exploring its richly decorated interiors and lits remarkable Italian-style lakeside gardens. 

After returning to the mainland, we travel by private vehicle along the shores of Lake Maggiore towards Lake Mergozzo and the village of Mergozzo, a remarkably lakeside settlement known for its medieval stone houses and peaceful atmosphere. Walking through its historic center, we discover the area’s long tradition of stone craftsmanship, shaped by generations of local stonemasons.

From here, the journey continues into the Alto Vergante, a lesser-known hill district overlooking Lake Maggiore. Surrounded by forests and open landscapes, this area offers wide panoramic views and a strong sense of local life, far from the usual tourist routes. 

The day concludes with a relaxed moment at a traditional trattoria, where we enjoy a typical local merenda, while taking in sweeping views over the lake and surrounding mountains. A simple and genuine way to experience the territory before returning to Stresa by car.
